In fulfilling its mission, Peninsula Pan supports the activities of Flash in the Pans Community Steelband; awards scholarships, when needed, to local youth and adults taking steelband classes; and organizes and sponsors special events such as these:

Last Night! a free community New Year’s Eve celebration for all ages in the town of Blue Hill, Maine.  Last Night! features activities which include crafts, drama, and dance in addition to a wide variety of musical performances by over 30 individuals and groups.  All performers donate their time and talents, and local organizations and businesses donate space and goods. Well over 1500 attend this annual event.

New England Pan Festival2015 Flash in the Pans hosted the New England Pan Festival Flash in the Pans has hosted this annual gathering of steelbands in New England three times.  Fifteen to twenty steelbands, large and small, gather together on the first weekend of May. Musicians of all ages join together to play, learn and share their music.  In addition to the panorama style concert where each band plays 3-4 songs (often including a classical piece) participants also attend workshops.  For several years, prestigious bands from Trinidad and New York City have participated in concert and by leading workshops.  The public is always invited to festival activities.
